Did I enjoy the movie “Lost in Translation”?
Many people asked me before about this topic, so I am telling you now in early stage of this blog.
Yes, I enjoyed the movie very much.
Just like you imagine, I didn’t get lost in translation. I was just feeling sorry for the people getting lost in my hometown and only get to experience a little portion of the moment. I also enjoyed the GAIJIN(foreigner)’s point of view of the city.
Night life in Tokyo was also very realistic in this movie; actually some of those Japanese casts were not even actors. I have personally met “Charley”, their Japanese friend who take them out for clubbing in the film, several years before the movie came out. He was (hope still is) a magazine editor and a very nice guy. We took him out in LA for parting and 3 AM burrito session at a random taco truck in Venice, the LA style. He could’ve lost in translation if we weren’t around. This is other side of the story in real life.
